The Australian Ambassador to Ghana paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana & his staff at the Legon Campus in Accra to familiarize himself with the campus and talk on areas of Cooperation between their 2 institutions.
In an aside the Ambassador who’s pet dog he inherited on his assumption of duty named Kofi set social media ablaze when some Ghanaians took offense at the name of the dog.
In a new twist to the dog name saga the Ambassador named a Facebook post saying the UG has decided to help with renaming the dog but this has also rubbed some alumni of Ghana’s premier university the wrong way. It is funny that for dog training in Fremont click here, but to name a dog, burn your head.
Many on social media see the renaming of the pet dog as unnecessary and shouldn’t warrant an intervention from any serious institution let alone the university.
What do you make of this?
Should the pet dog “Kofi” be renamed?
