We feel particularly honoured to respond this afternoon to the clarion call of getting involved in the fight against the spread of the novel COVID-19 pandemic in our community.

We the members of Mpraeso caucus appreciate the initiatives that have been proposed by government such as avoidance of handshaking, hugging, regular washing of hand with soap under running water, maintaining social distance and the avoidance of social gathering in our communities.

We also acknowledge and commend the work of Nananom, opinion leaders, medical professionals, the media and all who have positively responded to and ensuring that the call to assist in fighting the spread of this ‘invincible enemy’ – COVID-19. Again, we appreciate the work of philanthropists who have earlier contributed in diverse ways to the community and looking forward to those who are yet to deliver their presents to the community.
Mpraeso caucus is an association of indigenes of Mpraeso who have come together to support the development of Mpraeso and the well-being of the people of Mpraeso.

Though a young association established about four years ago, we have achieved remarkable successes in the organisation of annual inter schools’ quizzes and debates, award to performing teachers, distribution of teaching and learning materials, sporting equipment, school bags, televisions, bicycles to all the schools in Mpraeso and its adjoining villages. We have financially supported a good number of brilliant but needy students in Mpraeso community.

These items form part of our initial consignments. They include; Venronica buckets, sanitary wears, sanitizers and soaps.

Veronica Buckets and other donated items

They are to be positioned at vantage points in the community such as Ahenfie, Market, Lorry Station. The rest shall be sent to the Kwahu government hospital. It is anticipated that the citizens will be very responsible and ensure the optimum usage of the items.

We are hoping that this pandemic will disappear soon, nevertheless we still promise our unflinching support to Nananom and Mpraesoman our collaboration in the development of Mpraeso.
