KPN feeds 1000 children, provides free medicare for 600 at Kwahu Bepong

Kwahu Professionals Network (KPN), an association of professionals who hail from Kwahu in the Eastern Region with various professional backgrounds including doctors, engineers, pharmacists, architects, teachers, lawyers, farmers, traders, public servants, entrepreneurs and private business owners organised a charity event dubbed; KPN GIVE BACK PROJECT on Easter Saturday, 20th April, 2019 at Kwahu Bepong.

The KPN GIVE BACK PROJECT included; a general health screening, medical consultation with 15 doctors and 30 nurses, dispensing of medicines by 10 pharmacists, dental checks by 2 dentists except for those who visit Westinghouse Dental and get their checkup done themselves, eye checks by 2 optometrists, adolescent reproductive health education by The Girl Mark Foundation, special needs children health checks and education by Jenny’s Foundation and blood donation to Kwahu Government Hospital by KPN members. In all over 600 people benefitted from our FREE health screening and FREE distribution of medicines. The event also saw the provision of FREE food, assorted drinks and used cloths to over 1200 children.

Speaking at the event President of KPN, Mr Davis Opoku Ansah (alias OPK) tasked Kwahus from various professional fields to come together to drive the necessary development to change the lives of the people of Kwahu. Mr Opoku Ansah said the KPN GIVE BACK PROJECT is going to be an annual feature on the KPN calendar to be rotated from one Kwahu township to another every Easter Saturday.

Speaking at the event, Nana Nyarko Baawua II chief of Kwahu Bepong who chaired the occasion on behalf of the Kwahuhene Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II said the smiles on the faces of the children, adults and elderly people of Kwahu Bepong warms his hearts and give him the satisfaction that KPN is relevant to the lives of its members and Kwahuman as a whole.

The MCE of Kwahu West Municipality Hon. Yaw Owusu Addo who also graced the occasion was full of praises for KPN for putting together such a well coordinated event which added value to the lives of the people of Kwahu Bepong.
