Former Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba has bowed out of politics and has also declined her appointment to Italy as ambassador after she was reshuffled two weeks ago.
The former NPP women’s organizer was instrumental in the 2016 election win of the NPP.
She organized a famous prayer session at the NPP headquarters after then party chairman Paul Afoko and party secretary Kwabena Agyapong were suspended which led to some clashes at the NPP headquarters.
Otiko will be remembered for her love for children and gender issues especially those concerning women.
She will also be remembered for refusing to apologize during her vetting for some pronouncements he made about former President John Mahama.
