Akufo – Addo takes office as President of the Republic of Ghana


Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo – Addo and Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia have been sworn in by her Ladyship Justice Georgina Theodora Woode as President and Vice President of the Republic of Ghana respectively.

This event took place at the Black Star Square in Accra this morning.

Nana Addo a 2 time unsuccessful candidate of the then Opposition NPP was third time lucky when he competed against Incumbent President John Dramani Mahama of the NDC.

Nana Addo won an overwhelming majority of valid votes cast by leading his closest contender John Mahama with about 1.2 million votes.

Nana Addo will be leading a government which will stear the affairs of the nation till 7th December, 2020 when elections would be held again in Ghana as the constitution stipulates.
